Your Sacrifice

Sometimes a song like this just takes your breath away, leaving you helpless against the torrent of nostalgia.

Creed - My Sacrifice

Hello my Friend we meet again.
It's been a while, where should we begin?
Feels like forever.
Within my heart are memories of perfect love that You gave to me.
I remember.

When You are with me, I'm free.
I'm careless, I believe.
Above all the others, we'll fly.
This brings tears to my eyes.
My sacrifice.

We've seen our share of ups and downs, oh, how quickly life can turn around in an instant!
It feels so good to reunite, within yourself, and within your mind.
Let's find peace there.

I just want to say hello again, I just want to say hello again.

Why don't they ever sing this at church? It's such a wonderful praise song.

Recurring Thoughts

It's been sometime since I last posted in here, mainly because school has been taking a toll on my ability to find time to write long posts as I used to. But it's not to say I'm not able to cope with what's been presented before me at the moment, I am really. It's just that certain privileges I once enjoyed in my free-er days have now been curtailed, leaving me what most would term a 'nerd' or 'geek'.

Thoughts about different types of people have been recurringly occuring in my 'daydreams'. And I think I've basically narrowed down the types of people we meet everyday in life to a simple four categories.

Firstly, there are the people who not only cause us hurt and pain, but remain in our lives for a substantial part. These are the people I term the 'parasites' because they stick onto us and sap us emotionally, mentally and spiritually. These are the people so detested and yet, somehow, someway, like how a leech sticks onto its victim, these people manage to stay with us through a huge part of our lives. In time though, we become gradually immune to these 'parasites' and we grow to adapt even as they continually pound away at our emotional threshold.

Secondly, there are the people who cause us hurt and pain, but leave as soon as the damage is done. These are the people I like to call the 'users' because they retrieve whatever they've wanted of us before deciding it was time to call it quits. Detested and the most vicious of the four types, these people are to be avoided at all costs. Seriously. Because these are the people who have the potential to deliver a killer blow in one aspect of our lives and depart before we get a chance to even return a blow.

Thirdly come the 'tooth fairies'. These are the people who make a positive impact on our lives, contributions or life-changing experiences but decide to leave because they find they aren't able to sustain the level of excitement or happiness they've generated in us. These people start out with good intentions but most of the time, they aren't really much of a 'finisher'. They don't finish the job they've started and might be good for just a period of our lives when we need encouragement or support.

Lastly, but most importantly, there are the 'keepers'. These are the people who make life-changing decisions in our lives, contribute to improving our standard of living and at the same time, leave us amazed at how they've done that so effortlessly without incurring even abit of resentment within us. Humans dislike change and so to induce change without resentment is an achievement in itself. These are the people we must cherish and strive to keep, because through them we find happiness and discover that life is indeed a learning journey.

And dear KL, you're a keeper that's what I know and I'm so thankful I found you.

Now, back to that pile of assignments in the corner.
